This nationally awarded landscape design overcame a challenging site – not one step was installed in over 3’ of grade change from front to back. The custom pergola provides an intimate space for gathering, opening up to a fire pit area to the side. The kitchen is creatively placed under the first story porch deck on the house, with entry from the finished basement. A deck at the woodland edge cantilevers out over the back ravine to give the sense of being up in the tree canopy, with "moonlighting” for nighttime enjoyment. The plant selections are hardy varieties and provide a nice foreground for the lush woodland, as well as adding color in the backdrop of this outdoor space.
